All us have stories that are waiting to be told. Each story, or slice of our life, offers a glimpse of how we have been shaped, what matters to us, and why it matters.

After 33 years of marriage, my husband left me and moved in with another woman. I was left single and very alone. At the time, it felt like my life was over, I was rejected. What surprised me about this time was how real the presence of God became to me as I experienced Him as my husband. I realized that despite my circumstance, His word was alive and well and could be lived out in my life. I learned that God is present in my life through the Holy Spirit and that the Lord truly restores the years the locust has eaten (Joel 2:25). God promises in Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

God showed up when I decided to totally take him at His Word and receive the love He had for me. His love was all I needed. I expected to receive a little bit of relief instead, God blessed me with a joy unspeakable and the ability to live out His promise.Others need to know that they’re not defined by the people who leave them or reject them. That the Lord will restore. I am confident that God will bless others with my story.
